Tanya Laporte - The Runner

Meet Tanya, outdoor enthusiast, adventure race survivor, and one of our ridiculously talented graphic designers!  Tanya hails from the sunny shores of Durban, South Africa, but she swapped biltong for vegemite in 2013 and has been soaking up the Townsville lifestyle ever since.  She officially became an Aussie in 2018 - mainly for the Tim Tams and the legal right to say “yeah nah” in professional settings.

By day, Tanya remotely works her design magic as one of our graphic design gurus; turning ideas into visual gold, making things look amazing, and generally making the rest of us look like we know what we’re doing.  If it’s beautifully designed and pixel-perfect, chances are Tanya had something to do with it.

When she's not dazzling us with her creativity, Tanya can usually be found somewhere off the grid; trail running, mountain biking, paddling, or climbing a hill with a 15kg backpack and a suspicious amount of trail mix.  She and her hubby are professional road-trippers, always ready to roll with their hiking boots, kayaks, bikes, and hybrid caravan.  No bitumen?  No dramas.

She’s tackled multi-day hikes (including Tasmania’s stunning Overland Track), dabbled in paddle-packing, bike-packing, and even survived a few 24-hour adventure races, although she swears she's “resting” before the next one (translation: plotting it right now).

Vital Stats

AKA:  The Runner, Pixel
Real Role:  Graphic Designer

Likes:  Mountains, maps, trail mix, font nerdery, and that perfect shade of green
Dislikes:  Spreadsheets, adulting, and Comic Sans (seriously, don’t get her started)

Claim to Fame:  Tanya once completed a 24-hour adventure race and still had energy to sort her socks by Pantone colour at the end.  She's been known to create entire brand identities before most people have had their flat white.  Rumour has it, she can paddle a kayak, hike 20km, and still spot a rogue pixel at 100 yards.
